Global Survivors for Peace recognizes that Rwandan children are talented, but may need special attention to empower them to reach their educational goals. Our founder’s passion for education has lead her recognize that students need support to decide which classes and future careers will most benefit them. Our organization is committed to serve high school students who are rising stars to prepare them for the academic experience of college and instill in them the confidence needed to apply.
College Prep
Our organization seeks to mentor talented high school students who do not have a support system in their homes that can help them succeed. Strong support is essential to continue education so we offer college advising, study skills workshops, application fee assistance for orphans, and academic advising. We prepare students for the TOEFL, SAT, and SAT Subjects tests. We train them in writing essays so that they have the knowledge necessary to strongly pass these tests and compete at the international level. We also organize parent night events for seniors, juniors, and sophomore high school students so we can discuss the best way to help our children.
Tech Training
Our organization gives priority to students, especially girls, and orphans who are technology-oriented and in need of accelerated trainings to get where they want to be. To achieve this, we offer evening tutoring and mentorship, as well as weekend trainings in English, math, and science.
Students must complete an application form to join this program to ensure that they are given the best attention possible and their interests are met. Students who are selected continue with the program until they get into college. If needed, we also continue to assist them as they rise through college. Our main goal is to foster personal growth and broaden students’ awareness of their potential.
