People traumatized by tragedy are the most vulnerable members of society. Global Survivors for Peace is dedicated to approaching survivors with compassion. We show them love by helping provide for their basic needs, recover from trauma and combat loneliness.
Practical Support
We work with partners to provide education, counseling, and shelter to the survivors we connect with. We also support survivors in paying insurance premiums that can be too high for those with health problems and small incomes. We connect survivors without homes with host families and seek out housing for those in greatest need, as well as contact volunteers to repair damaged or unsafe houses for elderly people and widows.
Survivor-Focused Approach
Our mission is to visit survivors and learn from their experiences. We follow survivors’ leads to make sure we understand the best way to care for them and assure them they are not alone. Based on our experiences, survivors love for people care about their stories and make time to listen to them. They are eager to work tirelessly so that no one on our planet should experience genocide. With this in mind, we encourage survivors to tell their stories to educate others about genocide and its consequences if we don’t take action.
Help Us Help Survivors
Survivors need dedicated care. Many have multiple needs to be addressed. We cannot provide for all of the survivors we learn about without the support of generous friends. Please visit the Get Involved page to donate to this important work. Survivors are grateful for your help, and we at Global Survivors for Peace know we could not do what we are called to do without you.
